February 14, 2012What is Video Marketing?
Definition: “Video Marketing refers to the promotional strategy deployed by companies to promote products and services by using short, attractive and educational videos. The main purpose of preparing such videos is to induce or spread awareness to the prospective customers about an organization and its products. An entrepreneur can entice a potential client for the purchase of the product by spreading its awareness. The visual demonstration of the message makes the advertisement or promotional video appear lucid and visually appealing.” (Courtesy of – ezinearticles.com)
With technology growing rapidly, video cameras and electronic equipment are getting cheaper. Aside from those items getting cheaper, video editing software is getting cheaper and more user friendly as well. What does all this mean? Producing videos will be easier tomorrow than today! That is why the world of video marketing is spreading like wildfire.
The internet is being overrun with videos popping up by just about every Joe, Nancy, and Harry out there. Why is this? Videos can be entertaining, informative, and broadcast a message quick and easy and save us the time from reading an article. Videos capture what’s happening live, and give us a better understanding and feel for what’s going as we can visually capture things from in front of the lens on our television or computer screen. Heck or even our smart phones these days.
Why is video marketing becoming such a big fad? Well quite frankly, people are getting lazy. Yes, we said it – lazy! We’re not calling you lazy; we’re just saying the general public is getting lazy. We all sit in-front of the TV and watch our favorite shows, or news programs on a daily basis. And not to mention those countless reality TV shows that suck us in and humor or anger us at times. This has turned reading the newspaper into a thing of the past. Most of the news we want to engage in is readily available at our finger tips somewhere on the web, and somewhere in video format.
Having done quite a bit of work in the Real Estate and Mortgage industries in the past, I have watched two extremely powerful video marketing shows emerge and come to life. The first, The TBWS Daily Show (Think Big Work Small), and the second called, The Resource.tv. Both of these shows are done by two hosts who rattle off some powerful and engaging content about what’s happening in the real estate and mortgage industries. Everything from the basic down and dirty marketing techniques, to political information that has actually landed them seats in senators laps stirring up some huge debates. Without video marketing their news and political information is likely to be unheard. News articles wouldn’t cut it as most government officials would just throw it in the garbage.
Both of these shows have leveraged their power and fought for compensation changes within the mortgage industry, helped keep loan officers and realtors compliant with today’s new regulations, and even brought a few laughs to the tough times faced by everyone in those industries.
If you haven’t looked in to video marketing we suggest you do so… The power behind video marketing is incredibly strong, and after all it is the wave of the future. If you’re located in Washington State, I suggest you find some dates and sign up for a seminar put on by the guys at The Resource.tv. You will learn a lot and take your business to the next level. Yes, these guys use a green screen most of the time, but as shown in the video below it can be done without one. The key to successful video marketing is giving people the content they want, but in an engaging, yet cut and dry information format. Have some fun with it and experiment.
Take a look at the video below from The Resource. TV and see what video marketing is all about!
